As us Baby Boomers get more tech savvy and our parents become increasingly older, more and more companies are coming up with monitoring systems to make sure that all is well in the household.
These systems range from web cameras to motion detectors and can be placed throughout the living quarters that can amass a ton of data about what is going on with our aging parents. Are they moving around enough? Getting outside on a regular basis? Drinking enough ensure? Pretty much all the things that we care about we can monitor from these systems. We could probably even put a sensor on the daily pill case!
All joking aside, a fair amount of research and money has been invested in the development of these systems and they are meant to be taken very seriously. Help, I’ve Fallen And I Can’t Get Up 2.0 is here but will the baby boomer generation embrace this new technology?
While the costs of assisted living are quite egregious the initial and monthly costs should seem very agreeable, given the comparison. I guess it’s what you take out of. If you have the time and the passion to stay abreast of monitoring it may be totally worth it.
